Friday’s Fabulous Finds!

Hello, friends! Happy Friday!

This past week has been a busy one for sure.

Besides work, I’ve been trying to put down the remaining produce we picked up at our local farmers market and get it all in the freezer for winter.

Truth be told, I seriously feel like fall is moving way too fast!  I have a whole bucket list of things I still want to do before fall ends and winter begins.

And number #1 on that list is jumping in the truck to go see some of the fall foliage popping up all around us this weekend!

Now let’s get to this weeks Friday’s Fabulous Finds!

WINTER BLUES

Do you put much stock in the Farmer Almanac’s weather prediction? If so, here’s this winter at a glance. I’m kind of happy about the ‘dry’ prediction for our area but I sure don’t like what they are predicting for my friends down south and up in Canada! UGH!

  • I haven’t decided what I’m going to do with our pumpkins on the front porch this year. But I’m thinking #15 out of these 33 ideas sounds fun and totally doable! What about you? Carve or Paint?

I froze a bunch of butternut squash this past weekend and the first thing I’m going to make with it is this YUMMY Butternut Squash Alfredo!  Krista had me at bacon!

  • Have you taken a look at Pottery Barn’s Holiday Collection yet? There is SOOO much to love, but I think my favorite is the Ski Chalet collection. It’s definitely what I envision our Christmas to look like.
fall florals

I could seriously watch Bre put together a floral arrangement ALL day! Not only is it SUPER relaxing but she NAILS it every time! This gorgeous arrangement would be the perfect centerpiece for a Thanksgiving centerpiece. (P.S. She’s doing another tutorial on a winter wreath later this week!) P.P.S She has a new book that I can’t wait to S-L-O-W-L-Y go through on those lazy winter days.

MORE FAVORITES:

Remember in last week’s favorite post  I said I ordered a leopard print sweatshirt from Old Navy? Well, I wore it for the first time when hubby and I went on a casual date night to our favorite pub last weekend. I dressed it up a bit with my favorite dark jeans, gold hoops, and comfy flats. It is more of a lightweight sweatshirt, which is fine, so I did bring a jacket. As for comfort? It fit perfectly and was even softer after I washed it!

  1. The colder weather means dryer air, and since our current home doesn’t have a humidifier attached to the furnace, I did some research and found one I really liked for our bedroom. This one is not only a humidifier but also a diffuser so I can add my lavender and eucalyptus essential oils as needed!
  2. I was on the lookout for a casual lightweight jacket to get me through these cooler nights without having to take out my big bulky winter coat. This puffer jacket checked all the boxes so I ordered it. I’ll share my thoughts on it once it arrives.
  3. I’ve been ‘cozying’ up our loft area for winter, and along with pillows and comfy blankets, I’m adding a few more things to keep us busy this winter. I added this game to our collection because it sounds challenging and fun.
  4. I HATE flossing! With that said, I KNOW I have to do it, so I FINALLY broke down and bought a water flosser in hopes that it would motivate me to floss. It took a few times of spraying it up my nose and onto our bathroom mirror, but I finally got the hang of it. And guess what? IT WORKS! I cannot believe how much stuff comes out of my teeth even though I brush three times a day!
  5. I’m putting this laptop desk on my Christmas wish list for those weekends where I have to work but don’t feel like being shut up in my office!
  6. My mom needed some comfy, but also sturdy slippers for wearing around the house. I bought her these and she absolutely LOVES them! She said they are SUPER comfy and they have an anti-skid sole to prevent her from slipping and falling. I’m adding these to my Christmas list too! LOL!
MY BIGGEST FAVORITE THIS WEEK!

Stove Top Potpourri! Oh my goodness friends! If you’ve ever made this you know how AMAZING my house smells right now. I usually put this scrumptious brew in my small crockpot but I can’t seem to find it so on the stove it went!

what you’ll need to make stovetop potpourri:
  • 1 apple
  • 1 orange
  • 1/2 cup fresh cranberries
  • 1 Tablespoon whole cloves
  • 2-3 cinnamon sticks
  • Water to fill the pot

  1. Love all your finds and fun links this week, Christine! I’ve been really surprised at how traditional the holiday items coming out this year have been. I guess it’s because we’re all spending so much extra time at home and want to be cozy and nostalgic, you know? Can’t wait to make all your yummy recipes and your beautiful potpourri too! Sending you hugs for happy celebration week, CoCo PS: Maybe if it’s cold and rainy here it will actually feel like we have more than one season 😂

  2. Lol, I totally get that, CoCo! It’s been so warm here it hardly felt like fall and then this morning we woke up to frost! Strange weather for sure! I hope you enjoy the recipes and I agree with your thoughts on the holidays. I think people are really focused on making their homes feel cozy because we really are spending more time there than before. Which is such a bad thing, right?

  3. I love these posts!! First of all, your date-night outfit is so cute! I love that sweater and those flats are so cute, too! The laptop desk is such a great idea! I’ve been wondering what to get my mom for Christmas and I think that might just be it! I can only imagine how amazing your house smells with that stovetop potpourri. I can’t wait to try that out! I hope Micheal had a great birthday! I bet he did with that amazing cake!! LOL

  4. You are just the sweetest, my friend! I’m so glad you like the post and YES, that laptop desk will make the perfect gift for your mom. I’m so jealous! Michael did have an amazing birthday, or so he says. The cake is almost gone so I would have to say it rocked too! LOL! Thank you so much for all the love, Michelle! You made my day!
