Recipe Notes

BONUS? They also make a FABULOUS homemade gift for your special loved ones!

how to gift wrap the holiday hand pies:

Baked Good Boxes or Tins

I just couldn’t resist these fun plaid treat boxes that I found at Walmart. They were under $2 for 3 boxes. You can also find a TON of cute bags, boxes, and tins at The Dollar Tree.

And this festive red and white twine is one of my favorite ways to add some Christmas to any baked good package I wrap!

After much thought, (okay no thought I just asked Michael how many hand pies he could eat in one sitting) I decided I would add 3 hand pies to each gift box.

Then I took each pie and placed it in one of these handy cellophane bags.  You could also use parchment paper or even Saran Wrap. I sealed each pie in the bags and then made them more festive by tying a piece of the twine around each one.

Finally, I placed a piece of parchment paper inside the box and then carefully added in the three pies. Then tied more twine for good measure! Unfortunately, I couldn’t find my good invisible tape to seal the box so I used some crappy stuff I found in my craft supplies. (UGH!) But you get the idea! Right?

Now, who wouldn’t love one of these Holiday Hand Pie-filled boxes for Christmas?

Give them out to teachers, neighbors, heck even the Fed Ex and UPS person would love this sweet treat!

And not just because they are SO darn good! NOPE! They will LOVE this gift because it came from the heart!

Which, in my opinion, is where all Christmas gifts should come from!

I hope you enjoy today’s homemade Holiday recipe!
