25 Quick and Easy Super Bowl Appetizers

I’m rounding up 25 quick and easy-last-minute appetizers for game day 2022!

Hello, friends!

Well, ready or not, it’s here!

Super Bowl Sunday is this weekend!

As I mentioned last week, I’m all about the food when it comes to game day. So I’ve been preparing for the big day for a while now.

I’ve made my list of appetizers I’ll be serving. Checked it twice. And bought all the groceries and supplies earlier in the week. Now all I have to do is start preparing each dish. Which Michael and I plan on doing Saturday!

Now I totally understand that not everyone gets as excited as I do about game day. So if you haven’t even thought about it, or aren’t planning on watching, I get it.

But…if you are and you just haven’t had time to even THINK about what to make, I’ve got you, my friend.

Oh my, do I ever!

I’m sharing 25 of our favorite appetizers and breaking them up into 5 popular game day categories! I’m also going to share a few tips and pointers I’ve learned along the Super Bowl party way as well as some of my favorite game day supplies that make entertaining simple and effortless!

So let’s get started!

#1 CRAZY GOOD CROCKPOT APPETIZERS!

Nothing says ‘effortless’ like throwing everything in a crockpot and walking away until it’s done. But who says effortless has to be tasteless? Here are 5 quick and easy appetizers (no dips)that will make it look like you worked all day in the kitchen!

1.Cranberry-Sauerkraut Meatballs

Tangy sweet and oh so tender. Whether you make your own or add store-bought, these meatballs only get better the longer they slow cook in the crockpot!

Kitchen Tools to make serving a breeze:

2. Crockpot Crack Chicken

I’m a huge fan of serving one ‘main’ dish and a couple of smaller appetizers on game day. If that’s your idea of a party, then you’re going to want to make up some of this Crack Chicken. It’s usually served as a dip, but why not grab your favorite buns and serve it up as a ‘fill you up’ sandwich instead? I mean seriously friends. It has bacon AND cheese! Who could ask for anything more?

The Perfect Sides for these sandwiches for a game-day meal!

  • Crockpot Beans
  • Air Fryer Wedge Fries
  • Coleslaw
  • Potato Chips

3. Crockpot Ranch Mushrooms

Veggies aren’t just for dip anymore! These ranch mushrooms are full-on flavor and low on time and ingredients! Three to be exact. And all three are probably items you already have on hand!

4. Bacon Wrapped Smokies

Another 3 ingredient recipe, only this one involves bacon & brown sugar. Did I mention it has bacon? Oh yes, it does. I guarantee you and your guests won’t be able to eat just one.

5. Slow Cooker Chili

As far as I’m concerned. Superbowl just isn’t Superbowl without a bowl of chili! This recipe calls for simple ingredients and you can start the chili the morning of and be spooning up hot bowls of deliciousness by game time!

TIP: Chili can be the main attraction on game day, but don’t forget the most important part! The FIXIN’S! Here are some of our favorites:

  • Corn chips
  • Shredded cheese (Monterey & Pepper Jack & Cheddar)
  • Green onion
  • Sour cream
#2 CHEESE PLEASE

Michael and I have always lived close to the Wisconsin border, which if you didn’t know is the cheese capital of the world! So I’m not going to lie! We LOVE cheese. Well, all except blue cheese and that other stinky cheese. Other than that, we’d put cheese on everything if we could. This is why it DEFINITELY has to be on the menu in some way, shape, or form on game day!

6. Bacon Cheddar Puffs

These little bite-sized golden puffs aren’t only made with yummy cheddar, I also added in bacon too! Enough said… am I right?!

7. Ham and Cheese Party Sliders

This handful of yummy is SUPER versatile when it comes to the cheese and can be in your hands by game time with just a few simple steps and store-bought rolls!

8. Sausage Cream Cheese Bites

This 3 ingredient finger food takes just 15 minutes but you better make a double batch because one bite won’t be enough!

9. Turkey and Cheese Party Rolls

Layers of turkey, melted ham, and flaky crescent roll have my mouth watering already. The fact that these rolls are semi-homemade AND kid-friendly! WIN! WIN!

10. Cheese curds

These delicious morsels have my name written all over them. P.S. The recipe comes from another Minnesota girl so she’s got cheese curd experience. Trust me.

TIP: Not that you’ll have any left long enough to get cold but…if they do, I recommend popping them in the air fryer for a couple of minutes. No air fryer? The microwave will do too!

#3  double-dipping

Everyone knows it’s not polite to double-dip. But sometimes you just can’t help yourself when the dip is SO darn good!

11. 5 Minute Million Dollar Dip

Cheese, mayo, almonds, green onions, and BACON! There is nothing more to say. (SIGH)

;

12. Spinach Artichoke Dip

I’m told Spinach Artichoke dip is an acquired taste. I disagree. Either it’s good or it’s not. THIS Spinach Artichoke dip isn’t good. It’s OUT OF THIS WORLD DELICIOUS!

13. Seven Layer Dip

Heard of Seven Layer Salad? Well, this dip is just like that, except skip the lettuce and pour on the cheese. Lot’s and lots of it. Then dip chips, bread, or your finger in it and enjoy!

14. Cheesy Shrimp Dip

Heavenly is the only word I can come up with to describe this dip. The fact that I get to dip big chunks of crusty bread into it…well that’s just music to my tummy!

15. Dill Dip

Rich, creamy, and full of flavor. That’s what this dip is all about. Heavy on the dill. And the crunchy veggies too.

#4 Halfway healthy

Gameday food generally gets a bad rap for not being the healthiest food, but that doesn’t always have to be the case! I’m all for having some healthy food additions, even if they are only ‘healthy-ish’.

16. Veggie Pizza

So this veggie pizza starts with a layer of buttery-flaky crescent roll. And then it gets topped with a rich-dreamy sauce. Did I mention there are vegetables? That’s what makes it healthy-ish!

17. Easy Bruschetta

No one says you have to wait for summer to have fresh bruschetta. This recipe uses fresh tomatoes you can get year-round! Oh and basil…and crusty bread…and cheese. But I said tomatoes right? So healthy it is.

18. Vegetable Egg Rolls

One of my VERY favorite appetizers because they are not only SCRUMPTIOUS they are also BAKED and filled with veggies! Who could ask for anything more healthy?

19. Sticky Sweet and Sour Chicken Wings

Chicken is supposed to be good for you, right? Just because these wingettes are covered in a sweet and sour sauce doesn’t mean a thing.

20. Roasted Tomato Salsa

More tomatoes. This time roasted. More yummy-healthy goodness. P.S. I’m sure those chips are just a photo prop 🙂

#5 SAVE THE SWEET TREAT FOR LAST

With all these yummy savory treats you might forget the sweet stuff. But no Super Bowl party is successful (even if it’s a party of one) without a little something-something for the sweet tooth!

21. Peanut Butterfinger Bars

Nothing healthy to see here. Just layers of crunch oatmeal, peanut butter, chocolate, more peanut butter, and more chocolate.

22. Scotcheroos

All I can say is…I could eat an ENTIRE pan of these bars and not feel guilty. So I’ll make two pans on game day.

23. Reeses Pieces Snack Mix

Snack mix will never be the same after eating this!

24. Fluffy Chocolate Fruit Dip

I should have put this fruit dip in with the healthy-ish group. After all, you serve this decadent fluff with fruit. Am I right?

25. Salted Caramel Pretzel & Peanut Dark Chocolate Brownies

Is there really any better snack than salty AND sweet? Not in my book or my tummy!

FOOD & PREP TIPS & TRICKS

  • Don’t overdue!- One main food dish like sandwiches or chili are great-along with one or two other dishes for snacking. Or better yet, have a potluck party and have everyone bring a dish to pass!
  • Make whatever dishes you’re planning the day before if you can!  TIP: If you can set everything up the night before. That includes tables, extra chairs, kids’ area, coolers, etc.
  • Don’t stress about cleaning your ENTIRE house before game day. Focus on the areas that guests will be in and leave the rest for another day.

MY TOP 10 SUPPLIES FOR GAME DAY:

I know it’s a countdown to Super Bowl in 2 days but you still have time to gather up all the supplies you’ll need!

  1. Toilet paper –Don’t laugh! With all the shortages going on (yes, STILL) this item should be #1 on EVERYONE’s list!
  2. Paper Plates
  3. Napkins
  4. Plastic cutlery
  5. serving bowls and platters
  6. Plastic cups
  7. Disposable Tablecloth for the snack table
  8. Hand wipes for easy cleanup
  9. Coolers for soft drinks and beverages
  10. Ice
MORE TIPS AND TRICKS

Cut up fresh veggies and fruit- Keep plenty of fresh fruit and veggies on hand for those who may have food allergies or are watching their diet. Cut them yourself and you’ll save big$$ versus buying pre-made trays at the supermarket.

Dust off your slow cookers and crock pots- Come game day these small appliances can be lifesavers. They not only do most of the work for you, but they can also keep everything hot throughout the game.

Create a kid zone- If there will be kiddos at the party make sure they have an area away from the hustle and bustle of the game where they can play. TIP: A quiet space is also a good idea as game time can last past some bedtimes.

Alcohol or no Alcohol-  Whether you serve it or guests bring their own, don’t assume everyone will be drinking alcohol on game day. Make sure you also have plenty of bottled water, soda, and even cocoa or coffee. Also, have a plan in case a guest has drunk too much. Make sure the plan is agreed to by all BEFORE the game starts.

Make trash & recyclable bins accessible- Make cleanup easy by placing trash & recyclable bins in designated areas close to where everyone is congregated.

Well, my friends! I think that’s about it. Oh, wait. I have one more tip!

HAVE FUN!
