Friday’s Fabulous Finds
Hello, friends!
As fall officially rolls on in, Michael and I are preparing for the colder months ahead.
I hate to say it, but winter will be here soon enough, and now is the time we take stock of everything we’ll need for a cozy transition.
This past weekend I got started by bringing out the warmer blankets and plenty of soft cozy pillows. I also added a few fall-scented candles throughout the house and dug out a few of our favorite board games.
There is still more to do like organizing the pantry and freezer, prepping the vehicles, and swapping our lighter summer clothes out for the warm stuff!
Of course, that posed a wee bit of a problem. You see when we moved, I may or may not have gone overboard on the downsizing thing. But in my defense, I only sold or donated items we hadn’t worn in a while. Of course, in my case, that was quite a bit more than what I’d thought.
Needless to say, I’ve been doing some shopping to try and re-build my fall wardrobe.
I’ve never bought much in clothing from Walmart, but after reading this post, I couldn’t resist! Karianne found some ADORABLE pieces, and I actually ordered two of the sweatshirts she recommended! They were only $12 each! Now I wouldn’t say they are SUPER good quality(pretty lightweight) but they will work for wearing around the house just fine.
I had never heard of a shacket before until I read all about them in Liz’s post. They looked SO cozy and would be perfect for wearing to an outdoor event, high school football game, or just to the grocery store! I ordered this one for more dress-up days and this one for super casual. I haven’t received them yet, but when I do I’ll let you know if they are a thumbs up.
I’m not sure why I was looking online for fall tablescape ideas the other night. Since, well, we don’t have a dining room table yet. (UGH) But I was and I found so many gorgeous settings and centerpieces. EVERY single one Kristen has ever created is perfection, but THIS one is hands down my absolute FAVORITE.
Those adorable mini loaves of bread, books for placemats, and pretty pumpkins!!! Then I saw those grain sack towels she used for napkins and I just HAD to have them! Unfortunately, they are no longer available. (sigh). But wait! If you love the idea of using a grain sack towel I found similar ones here. And if you prefer a napkin version I found a set of four for SUPER cheap here! I ordered both to see which I like better for when we FINALLY get a dining table. Lol!
Last Sunday I filled up our slow cooker with all the fixings for my Beef Stew and hit start. With plenty of time on my hands before dinner, I decided to find a new recipe for some crusty bread to go with the yummy stew. I wanted something that didn’t require a lot of time and wasn’t SUPER complicated. Sunday’s are for relaxing, right? Well, Stephanie’s Classic Italian Bread was EXACTLY what I was looking for. Her recipe was simple and took just a couple of hours from start to finish. And the end result? PERFECTION! It was SO good as a matter of fact, that before they even cooled enough to photograph, Michael and I were cutting off the end pieces and gobbling them down WITHOUT butter!

We are still trying to get settled in the rental and making adjustments as we go.
I’ll be sharing a house tour very soon, but for now, let me just say I LOVE that our laundry room is on the first floor! Since we are renting, a permanent folding station wasn’t an option. So… I went on the lookout for a NOT SO permanent option and this SUPER modern, very industrial utility cart was what I chose!
Obviously, I LOVE the look of the cart. And function? AMAZING! First and foremost, This cart is heavy-duty and spacious. It holds all my laundry supplies on one shelf and two laundry baskets on the other. The best part is, it has wheels and even though it’s SUPER sturdy it’s also light enough to move around quite easily. BONUS-the top is the perfect size for folding! Which is why I bought it in the first place. BONUS BONUS…it was easy to put together and budget-friendly. You could use this in the garage, as a bar cart, plant stand, or even outdoors!

So many great links to dive into, Christine! I always forget you guys have to prep for winter weather as we have to prep for hurricane season. Love all the fall goodies you found, they’re making me want to cozy up right now. Can you believe the way it ended? I was like whaaaa – break out the tissues this is bananas. Sending you hugs for a happy week, CoCo
I’m so glad you enjoyed the post, CoCo! Yes, the prep is on, but thankfully, since we don’t own this house, it’s not as much as we used to do! 🙂 Happy week!
