Woodland Glam Christmas Tablescape
Hello, friends!
Entertaining friends and family would have to be on my list of top 10 things I’ve missed this year during the pandemic!
That couldn’t be more true now that we are only four days away from Christmas!
Normally, we all get together with my family on Christmas eve and have dinner. Then after we play a few games, we usually open one gift. It’s been that way for years.
But of course, it won’t be so this year. Instead, it’s just going to be the two of us this Christmas eve.
Even so, I decided to set a pretty table anyway.
I had decided early on that I wanted this year’s tablescape to be one that I could carry through until New Year’s eve.
I also thought it would be nice if I could create a centerpiece that would last throughout the winter months, or at least through January.

Once I had that chosen, I started first by laying down a clean white tablecloth. Then I took a large swag made from artificial greens and placed it in the center of the table. The swag also has beautiful large pine cones which I thought would be perfect for the woodland part of my theme.
I also added in a few ‘sparkly’ pine cones. Then I added in some dried oranges that I’d made last month, along with a few gilded pears, and faux berries. Next, since I love the look of mixing different metal tones, I added in two silver gilded deer to either end of the swag.
On each end of the swag, I placed a large glass cylinder vase. I decorated each by adding some silver washi tape and a white pillar candle. Â
I did the same thing to a smaller cylinder vase and set that next to one of the larger ones for an asymmetrical look. I’m usually all about things being symmetrical but for this, it just felt right.
For the table setting, I first placed an inexpensive black charger that I bought at the Dollar Tree. I topped that with a plain white dinner plate and then a gold-rimmed salad plate. I tied the crisp white linen napkin with some beaded garland and from that, I hung a glittery icicle ornament for a wintery touch!
Last but not least I used my gold tableware and a set of simple wine glasses to finish the setting.
I just LOVED how everything shimmered and sparkled after I turned the dining room trees lights on.
The twinkling lights probably would have been enough, but who doesn’t love a little candlelight too?
And it does a wonderful job of bringing out all the ‘glam’ of my Woodland Glam table. Don’t you think?
Even better-this entire tablescape didn’t cost me a thing!
what if you don’t have a swag?
No worries. You could easily use any faux greenery you have. Or go out in your back yard and grab some real greenery. It obviously won’t last all winter long but it will last you through the new year if you soak them first and continue to mist daily. You can grab some pine cones outdoors too or grab some cinnamon scented ones for super cheap at the Dollar Store.
How to gild faux fruit quickly and inexpensively
I bought a bunch of faux pears last year with the plan to gild them for Thanksgiving. Unfortunately, I never got around to do it. I know there are plenty of tutorials out there that use everything from gold leaf to rub and buff, but I just used gold paint.Â
I simply gave each one two coats of gold paint and then rubbed on a bit of brown to give them a bit of an aged look.
Different options for glass vases
I inherited those cylinder vases in several sizes when my daughter, Mel was married. We used them in centerpieces then too. But if you don’t have those you could definitely use any glass vase. You could even use large mason jars! Just make sure it is something that handles the heat from a candle safely.
I hope today’s post inspires you to set a pretty table this Christmas, no matter how many will be sitting there. Even if it’s just one or two…you can make it special easily and inexpensively!
