Holiday Cocktail-Peppermint-Mocha-Tini

Hello, friends!

Well, today is officially our last blog post for 2020!

And since Christmas is just two days away and we will be ringing in a brand new year a week later, we decided to celebrate by sharing one of our favorite holiday cocktails!

This YUMMY cocktail is OH SO creamy and tastes just like a peppermint patty! Except, of course, this cocktail does have alcohol.

what goes into a peppermint-mocha-tini?

Lots of yummy goodness that’s what!

  • Kahlua
  • Peppermint Vodka
  • Cream
  • White Chocolate
  • Peppermint Sticks

See what I’m mean!

But here’s the real kicker! You don’t even have to go out and BUY the alcohol!!

Yes, you read that right! You can actually MAKE both the Kahula and the Peppermint Vodka right there in your own kitchen!

why would you want to make your own alcohol?

Well, for one you’ll know EXACTLY what is in it! Two, you can make as much or as little as you want! Three, it costs WAY less than buying it! Four, Both make WONDERFUL gifts! And Five? Why not make your own alcohol?

After all, it’s SUPER easy!

Our Homemade Kahlua takes less than a handful of ingredients and in our opinion, it actually tastes better than store-bought! I’ve been making this recipe for years and the best part about it is the longer you let it sit the smoother and more delicious it becomes! It’s SO good that we even get requests for it from family and friends whenever we ask what they want for Christmas! You can find our recipe here!

As for the Peppermint infused Vodka?

Well, that too requires just a few ingredients but it doesn’t take as long as the Kahlua to get the FULL peppermint flavor! In fact, it takes just 4-5 hours!

***All you need is a few mini or 1 large candy cane and 2 cups of vodka! Place both into a glass bottle or mason jar. Shake well. Place in the refrigerator for 1 hour. Shake the contents once more. Place it back into the refrigerator for 3-4 more hours. The candy canes should melt into the vodka creating a pink liqueur.

Of course, if you want to make this DELICIOUS cocktail over the holidays, you might have to buy at least your Kahlua to get the best flavor! But that’s okay because it lasts for a LONG time and you can use it in everything from cocktails to dessert!

This Peppermint-Mocha-Tini is perfect for an after-dinner drink on Christmas or New Year’s Eve. And that’s usually when we serve it. Since it’s only going to be the two of us this year, I decided not to make a full batch of the Peppermint Vodka. You could definitely do so since it will last for months and I’m sure you could add it to other cocktails too!

how do you make a peppermint-mocha-tini?

First, you have to prepare your martini glass for that luscious liqueur! I do this by melting a bit of white chocolate and crushing some candy canes. Then I  dip each ice-cold martini glass into the chocolate first and then into the crushed candy cane! While I’m mixing up the cocktail I place the glasses back in the refrigerator. It’s not necessary but I LOVE this drink cold. Then you just mix in 2 part Kahlua-1 part Peppermint Vodka and 1 part Half and Half (more if you like it less boozy and creamier!) Then pour it into those chilled minty-chocolaty rimmed glasses!

Look at all that creamy- peppermint-chocolate yumminess! Doesn’t it look absolutely divine? And it is! So rich. So creamy. And so lip-smacking good!
