DIY Christmas Farmhouse Baking Sign
create a fun Christmas baking sign for your kitchen with just a few dollar store items!
Hello Friends!
Today I’m sharing another SUPER EASY DIY project that I just completed for our kitchen!
It was SO easy that I almost didn’t post about it! But I LOVED how it turned out so much I just had to share!
Isn’t this just the CUTEST?!
I made the sign for a Hot Chocolate Bar that I’m setting up in our kitchen! Because, friends, this girl (and her hubby) drink a whole lot of hot chocolate during the winter months and I want to make sure we’ve got a special place to make it!
My inspiration for decorating the space came from this stick-on sign that I found at our local Dollar General awhile back. It was just a $1 and I immediately fell in love with the colors and the wording.
Here is the full list of Supplies I used to create the sign:
(affiliate links are provided for your convenience. You can read our full disclosure here.)
- Baking Sign (Dollar General)
- White Charger (Dollar Tree)
- Red and White Twine (Dollar Tree)
- Greenery and Berries (Dollar Tree)
- Glue Gun/Sticks
- Ribbon (Dollar Tree)
how to make the baking sign
apply the stickers
The stickers are all separate so it took a bit of trial and error to get them set where I wanted. After I stepped back and looked at my first attempt, I ended up spacing them out more and putting the OPEN CHRISTMAS EVE on the bottom curve of the charger. Thankfully the stickers were forgiving, which allowed me to move them around a bit until I had them just right.
add red and white twine
To add a bit more whimsy and color, I decided to use some red and white twine as a border for my sign. I simply placed a thin bead of glue around the edge where the beads were and pressed the twine in place. TIP: Use a cotton swab or popsicle stick to press into place so you don’t burn your fingers!
add berries and greenery
This step is totally optional but I had these berries and a tiny bit of greenery leftover from another project so I just glued them in place at the top of the sign.
add ribbon for hanging
This red and white striped ribbon is so fun that I couldn’t resist using it to hang the sign! All I did was glue it onto the back.
And that my friends…is it! VIOLA! For a whopping $3 I now have a SUPER fun, SUPER cute sign to hang in our hot chocolate bar!
I hope today’s post inspires you to make your own Farmhouse Baking Sign for your kitchen!

Good Morning Christine,
Your sign is super cute. Peel and stick on decals sounds right up my alley. I’m doing away with a lot of my craft materials to focus on my art. Last week was rough, I was very sick and as I’ve been recovering this week, rather slowly regaining my energy. I’ve been spending some time thinking about this life., I came up with good health and happiness. Hoping before the holiday season hits I feel back to myself and put that in action beginning with a little decorating.
Christine,
This is adorable and easy crafts are always appreciated!
Hope you’re doing well!
Cindy
This is absolutely beautiful!! I haven’t been to Dollar General in forever. Mainly because the closest one to me is terrible, but there’s a new one a little bit further so I’m heading there this weekend to look for those stickers! I drink a lot of hot chocolate during the winter, too, so you’ve inspired me to have a hot chocolate bar. 🙂
What a great idea. Your sign looks great. It looks so pretty up above your counters. Happy Holiday!
Oh my goodness, Carole! I’m so sorry to hear you still aren’t feeling well! UGH! I’ll definitely be praying you feel better soon! As for the project, I’m trying to keep things as simple as possible this year! Less stress=happier me! Take care! Hugs!
Thank you so much, Cindy! I totally agree!
Thank you, Michelle! Our local one isn’t the best either. Never stocked and such a mess! So I go to another one about 15 miles away. I really love some of their holiday decor this year! That sign especially! Hope you find one! Our store had two left and guess who got one of them! LOL!
Thank you, Terrie! I actually had them set in our hutch temporarily while I organized our kitchen for Christmas. The sign was a fun addition!
I am so glad you shared this idea, Christine, I love it so much but would have never thought to make this! You are so creative and constantly inspire me with the way you think outside the box. You definitely elevate everyday items. We are super lucky to have you! Can’t wait to see your hot cocoa bar! Hugs, CoCo
Oh my goodness, CoCo! Thank you so much! You are so sweet! I really appreciate your kind words and constant support! It means the world to me coming from someone as talented as you!
