5 Fun & Fabulous Dollar Store Gift Basket Ideas!

let’s create some fun and budget-friendly gift baskets for all those hard to shop for folks are your list!

Hello, friends!

Today I’m SO excited to be sharing one of my absolute FAVORITE Christmas gift ideas!

Gift baskets!

The options for filling gift baskets are endless and I think that is why I LOVE creating them.

In years past I’ve made up a few themed baskets for the littles and donated them to local charities. It doesn’t have to cost a lot of money, but just that personal touch can mean a great deal to someone in need.

There is also usually someone on my list I struggle to find a gift for, and the great thing is I can always create a beautiful gift basket filled with LOTS of things they will enjoy, instead of buying them one big gift they will never use!

With that said, today I’m going to be sharing 5 themed baskets that anyone on your list will love!!

So let’s get started!

Gift Basket #1- Kick up your feet and relax!

The theme for this gift basket speaks for itself. It’s the perfect gift for SO many deserving people on your list!

WHO WOULD LOVE THIS GIFT BASKET?: EVERYONE! But if we are going to be specific think: Parents, Grandparents, Teachers, Daughters/Sons, Teens, Nurses, Neighbors& Friends!

THE BOX: I found this box at our local Dollar General for $3.50. I thought it was SUPER festive and absolutely LOVED the plaid!

HOW TO CREATE THE BASKET:

I like to fill my basket/box with tissue paper or shredded paper. In this case, I used some sparkly tissue paper. All I did was crinkle up a few pieces and set them inside the box. It may look like a hot mess now but just wait.

WHAT IS IN THE BASKET?

COST OF GIFT BASKET ITEMS:

I bought all the items for this basket at the Dollar Tree so the total cost to fill this basket was $6!

Total Cost: $9.50! But what an impact that small $ amount has when you put it all together.

TIPS: Color coordinate your items. This can be a bit difficult based on the limited selection at most Dollar Stores, but it can be done!  I chose to go all pretty pastels for this one.

And here is gift basket #1!

I added some festive ribbon (which I left half done so you could see the contents of the basket clearly) and a few sprigs of greenery to the basket. As well as, a pretty snowflake ornament.

I also created a simple gift tag that shares the theme *Kick Up Your Feet and Relax*, and attached it to a piece of green cardstock.

You can download this free printable here.

gift basket #2- Pamper yourselF

I’m a firm believer that everyone needs a bit of pampering to stay healthy and fulfilled. And this gift basket is filled with all the elements that will help your loved ones relax, renew, and reenergize!

WHO WOULD LOVE THIS GIFT BASKET? Everyone listed for gift basket #1 + Mother-in-law, Sisters, Aunts, Niece, Cousins, Day Care Provider, Clergy, & Co-Workers!

THE BOX: I’m using the same box that I used for gift basket #1

WHAT IS IN THE GIFT BASKET:

  • Body Wash
  • Body Lotion
  • Cozy Socks
  • Collagen Face Mask  TIP: You can get a 16 pack for $12 and they make an AMAZING gift on their own or add them to gift baskets or stockings!
  • Hand and Nail Mask
  • Sponge
  • Cranberry Scented Candle
cost of gift basket items:

I bought everything except the collagen face mask at the Dollar Tree! And since I bought those at the above price (see tip) the cost for the gifts in the basket was $5.75.

TOTAL COST: $9.25

So for under $10 you are giving that someone special a gift that will give MUCH needed pampering which will carry through to all aspects of their lives. That’s a pretty BIG gift for not a lot of $!

TIPS: Choose items that you would enjoy for your special spa day! The options are like I said endless. I also stuck with my color-coordinated theme and shows pinks for this gift.

Festive additions: I added in some frosted berries and more greenery.

Here it is tied completely with a festive bow!

gift basket #3 Oh What Fun!

This gift basket is all about creating, imagining, and oh yes, having fun!

WHO WOULD LOVE THIS GIFT BASKET? Kids! Grandkids, nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbors, friends! Or donate one to a local charity tree for a child in need!

how to create the basket:

I have two SUPER fun ways to create this gift basket. Here’s #1

THE BUCKET: I found this ADORABLE red bucket at the Dollar Tree! It’s fun, festive, and totally functional too! Giftees can re-use this to hold toys, art supplies, and even snacks!

I didn’t get a photo of this (my bad) but I simply took a few sheets of tissue paper and stuck them inside the bucket. You could also use colorful shredded paper too.

WHAT IS IN THE BASKET:

  • Coloring Book
  • Activity Book
  • Sticker Book
  • Playdough Pouch
  • Washable Markers
  • Washable Crayons
  • 2 Cookie Cutters (I bought a bag of 6)
  • Candy Canes

TOTAL COST FOR THE BASKET: I bought everything including the bucket at the Dollar Tree so the cost is $9!

What little wouldn’t want this funtastic bucket?! There are so many ways to be creative including using those sweet cookie cutters and playdough to create pretend Christmas cookies!

TIP: The possibilities are endless when it comes to filling a kid’s basket. I chose washable markers and crayons (your welcome mom and dads) but you could also choose arts and craft supplies, or create a theme like their favorite Disney or superhero character.

To decorate the bucket I just added a simple buffalo check bow!

GIFT BASKET #4

Isn’t this just FUN! Oh my goodness! There is so much to love about version #2! First, I picked up this utensil caddy at Dollar General for $5. So this version would be just $4 more. But it’s SOOO worth it. Because the kids can use this caddy to store all their color crayons, markers, and pencils in for a long time to come! In fact, I LOVED this idea so much I bought another caddy and put it up in our loft area for when the grandkids come to stay!

You can download this free printable label to place on the front of the caddy here.

gift basket #5 COzy night in

I created this basket for a couple, but you could totally switch it up and make it for a family!

WHO WOULD LOVE THIS BASKET? Any and all couples namely, Parents, Grandparents, Aunts& Uncles, Brothers and Sisters, Neighbors, Friends, Co-Workers.

THE BASKET: Is actually a bowl!

Like the others, I filled it with some tissue paper.

WHAT IS IN THE BASKET?

  • Stovetop Popcorn
  • Hot Cocoa Packets
  • 2 Mugs
  • Marshmallows
  • 2 Hallmark Movies
  • Peppermint Sticks
  • Plastic ornament to hold the marshmallows

TOTAL COST OF BASKET: I bought the mugs & ornament at the Dollar Tree.  I bought the hot cocoa, marshmallows, peppermint sticks, popcorn, and movies at Walmart.

Here’s the breakdown:

  • Mugs-$2
  • Hot Cocoa (I bought a box of six for $1)
  • Marshmallows (I bought a bag and only used about 1 cup)=No cost
  • Clear Ornament-$1
  • 2 Hallmark Movies-$7.50
  • Peppermint sticks-$1
  • Stovetop popcorn-1.48

Total Cost:$13.98

During the busy holiday season of parties, family gatherings, shopping, and so much more, we often find ourselves too exhausted to plan any QUALITY time with our significant others. Having everything for a quiet date night in will be the greatest gift you can give a busy couple. Well, except for sleep that is.

TIP: Choose the items based on the couple. Not cocoa fans? Maybe tea or a bottle of wine. Not into romantic flicks? How about an action movie or comedy? Don’t think they would enjoy popcorn? Add in some roasted nuts or snack mix. Whatever it is make it personal and just as special as they are.
