I realized the other day that I’ve been blogging
for a year and half now-and although I’ve mentioned
hubby in many posts-and I’ve often joked about us being
TOTAL opposites-I’ve never
really given you an ‘in depth’ look at one of the
most important people behind me and this blog!

The truth is- if not for Michael’s (aka hubby) patience, skill,
support and insight,  many of the projects I post about here
on the blog, would never have been completed-nor, would
I have ever been able to take on the ENORMOUS job of
fixing up our 100+ year old home.

But to be fair-there is more to this smiling face than just
putting up with my inept carpentry skills and endless list
of projects!

First and foremost- Michael is a dad.

There is NOTHING more important than his kids…

And finding ways to spend more time with them-(no matter what that involves)
means the world to him.

He’s also a grandpa-and though it’s a new title(7 months)-I think he’s
a natural!

This saying couldn’t be more true when it comes to
Michael. I feel blessed every day that he was raised by
such as a strong, vibrant and amazing woman, like
Mom L!  If not for her-he would never have become
the man he is today.

Together they have
endured some very difficult-life changing losses.

The first occurred when Michael was only three years old.
It was then that  doctors found a tumor in his left eye. Unfortunately,
the only option back then was to remove  the eye-and replace
it with a ocular prosthetic(artificial eye).

Hubby is now 55 years old-and if you asked him today
if he ever felt having sight in only one eye was
a handicap-he would offer a resounding ‘NO!’
In fact he’s never considered it an obstacle at all-since
he enjoyed playing all sports, racing cars, and of course
riding his motorcycle.

Here is where this free-spirited, wild and crazy-ENORMOUSLY funny
guy-feels most at peace.  It is on these rides (whether I’m along or not)
that he shares his troubles, joys and thoughts with his dear
sister, who passed away in a car accident, over thirty years ago.

I’ve known this big hearted-strong willed, number crunching
man for over twenty years-and I feel completely blessed
that he chose to take the journey of marriage with me four and a
half years ago.

It hasn’t always been easy.  Like most couples,
there are good times and bad, but the future
looks pretty amazing on the horizon, and we can’t
wait to see what comes next!

I hope you enjoyed this up close and personal look at the man in my life- and
behind this blog.  I plan on sharing more about the VERY special
folks in my life, in future posts.

Blessings and hugs,
